In recent years the 'death industrial' subgenre has come into its own with a degree of sonic and thematic separation from its power electronics forefathers . Artists like Lana Del Rabies in the U.S and Denmarks Puce Mary have brought forward this new wave of the genre in the states and Europe and similarly the queer scene in Australia seems to be a hotbed for innovative approaches to the sound. Melbourne artists like Serene Ailment and Uboa solidified my appreciation of this more experimental, genre defying approach to death industrial, and a recent artist which has held my attention since the projects inception is Teeth Dreams.

Melding ominous , textured synth drones, face melting noise and deeply personal subject matter with luscious synth sequences, Teeth Dreams' self titled album (released digitally last year) is one of the heralds of a bright new era for the genre. Darkness and carthasis rolled into one of the best noise releases of the decade.
